ARTHROSIS
ARTICANI clinical study
Inclusion-phase completed
Verification of the safety of intra-articular canine neonatal stem-cell administration.
- Monitoring spanning 6 months after administration has not shown associated side-effects
- Moderated local increase in temperature in the 48 hours following injection (consequence of the medical act)
- Confirms an excellent safety-profile
Comparison of clinical score and locomotion in dogs that were treated by surgery (tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy or TPLO) and nonsteroidal inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or administered stem-cells
- No lameness has been associated with stem-cell treatment
- Similar clinical scores as established by veterinarians between the two groups
- Similar clinical scores as established by owners
- Stem-cells can be administered to NSAID-intolerant dogs previously treated by TPLO
Arthrosis-progression is evaluated in both groups.
