Tendinitis is defined as an inflammation of the tendon fibers frequently encountered in equine species, particularly in sport horses. This pathology often affects the superficial flexor tendon of the finger. The main tendinous lesions encountered are related to repeated hyperextension of the ball. This accumulation of microtrauma gradually weakens the tendon and can clinically manifest itself as a swollen, hot, painful and limping limb.
